The Birth and Death of a Cellphone

the_birth_and_death_of_a_cellphoneFor every week or every month that passes, it seems that manufacturers are always in the groove to introduce a new piece of technology for the entire tech world to gawk at. What is unfortunate is that what you bought months ago may now be considered obsolete.

To honor the cellphones that made our lives a little bit easier and bearable, I hereby introduce the stages of the life of a mobile device from its birth to its death, and perhaps its afterlife.

  • The Purchase of a New Phone

Okay, I say ‘phone’ because it’s a generic term for mobile companion. You can opt for a smartphone but then a lot of people may still prefer a traditional type of phone in which you can only do calls and text messages.

  • The Finding of the New Phone

Of course, you need to find the location in which you can buy that smartphone. Do you want to purchase it directly from the wireless provider? Or do you want to buy it from the brand store? This step is easy to realize as long as you have the money and time to secure the purchase.

  • The Operational Phase

This is the stage wherein you use, misuse, and abuse your gadget. Relatively, this is the longest phase of your cellphone.

  • The Cool-Off Stage

This stage happens after you have consummated your excitement over your gadget. This is when you are now fixated on the devices held by your peers and some distant relatives. This usually transpires two to three months after the purchase.

  • The Judgment Day

When you finally decide that your cellphone is no longer fit to be with you, you can choose among a few other things like…

  • Donate it. You see, your kindness will surely resonate to others when you donate your phone to a charitable organization. The needy will find good use for that mobile phone and it can be used for other higher purposes.
  • Recycle it. I am sure you will get hundreds of tips on the net. The ideas will never be scarce and the greatest thing of all- you helped save the planet.
  • Resell it. Yes! You read that right, champ! You can sell your old cellphone in any condition. If the handset is still comparatively sleek and neat-looking, I guess you can have it at a higher price. But don’t you worry if it already has some scratches or is no longer powering on, you can still sell it!

If this is the case, I recommend that you sell your used, old, or broken cellphone at

www.ecyclebest.com/smartphone and max out the dollar potential of your gadget. With easy steps to guide you through the transaction, this is the easiest and fastest way you can try if you want instant cash for a new smartphone purchase!

What are you waiting for? Don’t lose this chance of converting your old or broken cellphone to cash! Only at www.ecyclebest.com!

Never-Heard Disney Musicals on BlackBerrys

“Disney movies are the most anticipated films of all time. Many film experts have created a list called “Disney Animation Canon” that enumerates the best of Disney productions. Every child will recognize at least one Disney film. Disney films have a certain appeal to people of all ages. It not only tackles romantic adventures to experiences and self-changing but it also displays real life scenes to learn from. However, Disney films are film classics in their own right. They have been producing the best films our eyes have laid upon since the early 1900’s. Disney movies are ageless and universally accepted. From your grandpas, mothers, uncles, and nieces, Disney is for all. When you watch films like these, you can never go wrong.”

Disney films are not made in a flash. It is brilliant minds and child hearts that keep the Disney magic alive. Imagination is made real in Disney. From typical lions, they give us Lion King. The mythical dwarves are born in Snow White. Our swimming mermaids can walk in The Little Mermaid. What we think are figments of our imagination have become a tangible part of our childhood and adult years. The creation of Disney films does not come easy. Many things have to be considered like how the characters are presented, how the story goes, what music should be added in every scene and how to make the entire movie short. The creative people have done their job making the film a success but it’s time to edit it and make it beautiful. Some scenes will be deleted for sure. Some songs even got deleted. Here are some soundtracks that you should download with your BlackBerry to keep the Disney spirit alive, even though these songs are not officially part of the film:

Aladdin – Why Me?

This is when Jafar got the magic lamp and threw Aladdin away and made the royal family his slaves. In the actual film, it was pure dialogue. Well, that should be enough of Jafar’s ranting considering that he was ranting even at the start of the film.

Mulan – Keep ‘Em Guessing

This should have been the song that introduced Mushu to Mulan. It was unfortunate that it was replaced by spoken dialogue considering this song is beautiful.

Hercules – I Can’t Believe My Heart

This song was probably removed from the film because it was very similar to Megara’s song ‘I Won’t Say I’m In Love.’ This song is much slower in tempo and similar in tone. This song may have been deleted from the spotlight but a fan preserved this to keep it alive. You should download it to see what the film is missing.

Lion King – To Be King

You might not expect it but Mufasa used to have a song. The song may have been removed because the song is too dynamic and bubbly for a stoic and very serious lion king like him. However, the song expresses Mufasa’s kingship, which was taken lightly by other animals.

Rap With Nicki Minaj on Your Blackberry

rap_with_nicki_minaj_on_your_blackberryEver had your heart running away with the famous rap song, “Super Bass”? Well then, bring Nicki Minaj to your playlist and enjoy more of her songs! Onika Tanya Maraj, whose stage name is Nicki Minaj, is an American rapper born in Trinidad and Tobago. Minaj rose to fame with her debut album, Pink Friday, in November 2010 when her album became Number One in the U.S. Billboard 200. Her album was also certified as Platinum by the Recording Association of America just a month after its launch. She was also the first female solo artist (and rapper) to have seven singles on the Billboard Hot 100 all at the same time. Her most famous songs include “Super Bass,” “Starships,” and “Pound the Alarm.” She is famous for incorporating alter egos, accents, and fast speed in her raps.

Sell your broken BlackBerry and get a new one so you can watch some of her music videos.

Fly (featuring Rihanna)

The video starts with a car driving through a disaster zone. The car stops and we see Minaj stepping out wearing a pink dress, thigh-high cowboy boots and big, curly hair. As she raps, she walks around the place. Rihanna appears with long, straight, red hair. Later on, Rihanna and Minaj are together, now with different outfits: Minaj, with leopard print style hair, wears a baby dress; and Rihanna wears a white long-sleeved straight jacket. Minaj walks down a staircase but suddenly ninjas begin to attack her. She soundly defeats all her enemies. We then see Minaj and Rihanna sobbing among the wreckage. The video ends towards with a scene of the sun exploding between the clouds.

Super Bass

The video begins with a close-up of Minaj starting to open her eyes and blinking rapidly. As she sings, she plays teasingly with men in the pool. This scene is weaved with a scene of Minaj dancing with back-up dancers. Minaj, wearing a fitted pink bodysuit, then rides a motorcycle made of ice. The video ends with Nicki Minaj performing a lap dance on a guy with other women and their partners. Her lips, hair and make-up glow in the dark. This song is the most loved song from Minaj, so if your phone is broken, better sell old BlackBerry to enjoy it!

Starships

In this video, we see a starship flying towards an island. We see a tribe performing a ritual that brought the ship there. The starship then beams Nicki Minaj down to the beach and she begins to rap. The tribe sees her as a goddess, so she is carried through the jungle. We then see Minaj dancing in the mountains. The tribe brings her to the top of a volcano during the night. She sits on top of a box. The video ends with the tribe partying with Nicki Minaj.

Pound the Alarm

The music video begins with Minaj on a building looking over a town. The video was made to pay tribute to Trinidad and Tobago, where she was born, and the Trinidad and Tobago Carnival. We see shots of places in Port of Spain. We see her walking down an alleyway in a red carnival costume, as she is joined by other women also wearing carnival costumes. Minaj wears a large feathered headdress. We then see her onstage for a concert with Trinbagonian artists, Machel Montano, Bunji Garlin and Fay-Ann Lyons. Minaj sits on top of a speaker as fireworks shoot up to the dark sky. She starts a conga dance line with her cousins. The video ends with her walking towards the light still dressed in her carnival costume.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month the BlackBerry Way

bb_breast_cancerOctober is the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This month, people commemorate, remember, and heighten their awareness of breast cancer. Breast cancer and cancer in general, is not an ailment worth ignoring. It should have action. If ignored and disregarded, cancer can be a lethal disease. That is why having breast cancer is not a burden but a challenge to surpass. Many have become breast cancer survivors because they were aware of what the disease is. They know how to remedy it. Awareness is important. Generally, treatment is expensive. That’s why many have tried ways to earn money like trying to sell old BlackBerry phones, loan money from banks, work harder, or depend on health care benefits. In whatever way they can, all they do is for survival.”

Having severe breast cancer is not a joke. Most severe breast cancers are lethal. As the cliché saying goes, “Prevention is better than cure.” Detecting this lethal disease is the best remedy to such a treacherous killer. Like all sickness, breast cancer has distinct symptoms. Initially, this disease may not cause any symptoms. A lump can appear in different sizes, so looking for it may be very hard. Going to the hospital and having a mammography is the best way to detect it. May it be big or small; lumps are usually the best indicators for breast cancer. It’s best to consult a doctor for assurance. In addition, these usually are the symptoms:

  • swelling of all or part of the breast
  • skin irritation or dimpling
  • breast pain
  • nipple pain or the nipple turning inward
  • redness, scaliness, or thickening of the nipple or breast skin
  • a nipple discharge other than breast milk
  • a lump in the underarm area

There are cases when the lumps are benign, or non-cancerous for that matter. But, whether it is cancerous or not, it’s still best to have your breasts regularly checked-up, may you be a man or a woman. That way, you don’t spend too much that may cause you to sell your BlackBerry for cash.

bb_cancer_fightAs part of corporate social responsibility, RIM launches the BlackBerry theme for the Breast Cancer Awareness Month. This is one way of supporting people who have lost their loved ones or support the cause. This lets you keep the pink ribbon always with you and that pink theme stays all over your phone. Thanks to mgdotnet’s efforts, we have a theme that can empower those who fight the hard fight for survival. For only $.99, you help and share a little of your fighting spirit with those who need it. All of the proceeds go to Susan G. Komen for the Cure foundation on your behalf. Everything will be accounted for and the donation will later be published on the site.

The Breast Cancer Awareness theme is a lovely design that highlights inspiring symbols with matching pink colors. You donate and help if you get this theme. This is your little BlackBerry way of shedding some light to those who need it. The theme is only compatible to a number of BlackBerry phones. That way, you can sell old BlackBerry phones and buy a new one to get this theme.

Morse Decoded

“During the First World War, spies exhausting their resourcefulness by extracting as much information from their enemies as they could. In order to protect information, they had to cover actual terms with codes which only they could understand. They called tanks turtles and airplanes birds depending on what airplanes they were referring to. To speed up information, they used Morse codes to transmit information fast, according to their standards, of course. In modern times, effective communication does not need to be deciphered. Ideally, what is in a message is what it is. You don’t need to be an expert just to get the gist of it. However, especially when you sell BlackBerrys or buy smartphones, you’ll see things which are not comprehensible to the naked eye.”

bb_specs

When we see BlackBerrys in retail stores, there are specifications only tech savvies can understand. If you decide to buy one, you’ll have to browse everything just to get how good your smartphone is. Even when searching specs online, you might still see the incomprehensible acronyms and words. They just keep on haunting you. Let me help you understand some commonly seen but hard-to-understand terms when you buy a BlackBerry.

HSPA – High Speed Packet Access. HSPA is a 3G (3rd Generation) technology based on UMTS standards that provide high-speed downloads at the cost of upload speeds. This technology branches out to many things including the High Speed Downlink Packet Access (HSDPA), Evolved High Speed Packet Access (HSPA +), and High Speed Uplink Packet Access (HSUPA).

CDMA – Code Division Multiple Access. CDMA is a 3G technology that competes with the GSM. This technology is used by Sprint and Verizon in the US, and Telus, TBayTel, and Lynx in Canada. You’ll see these in numerous countries like China, Taiwan, and Mexico.

GSM – Global System for Mobile. You get to see this acronym even before the birth of smartphones. GSM is an alternative to CDMA. This covers more of a global standard and the 3G technology used by most smartphone carriers in the world.

EDGE – Enhanced Data (rates for) GSM Evolution. EDGE is a 2nd Generation enhancement (2G or 2.5G) GSM software that allows data transfer and web browsing. It is nearly as fast as 3G. But, if your BlackBerry still relies on this, it might be time to sell that BlackBerry to upgrade.

HSPA + – Evolved High Speed Packet Access. HSPA + is like a turbo boost for HSPDA/UMTS devices. Its speed is comparable to the 4th Generation (4G) technology speed.

UMTS – Universal Mobile Telecommunications System. UMTS is another 3G technology that is known by more people as W-CDMA (Wideband CDMA). Because of UMTS’ unique way of decoding data and ethereal bandwidth use, it is faster than the EDGE.

LTE – Long-Term Evolution. LTE is part of the 4G family. This is anticipated to be a global standard for smartphones. LTE networks are fast. They can run up to 300 megabits per second downstream and 75 megabits per second upstream. This is the technology implanted in the iPhone 5. RIM might have this in the BlackBerry 10.

When you intend to sell your BlackBerry or buy one, these acronyms will appear from time to time. So, choose wisely and decide properly what phone you want to get.

  • 1984

If you have seen the widely-acclaimed and criticized television show The Big Brother, then George Orwell’s 1984 will surely bow down to Big Brother. The story revolves around a dystopian, “utilitarian,” society that promotes things for the common good and suppresses the “evils” of individualism in a so-called progressing society for the betterment of mankind. The Inner Party takes control over their jurisdiction with the omnipotent Big Brother as their leader. Eventually, the protagonist wants to reform its history and society to reveal the truth. This book will give you a good time reading through a boring car trip to the beach. You might as well decide which party you truly belong to.

A cornucopia of books is available on Amazon Kindle for BlackBerry. You can choose what you prefer most in reading. Sell BlackBerry books may be seen in your search. Regardless of what book you’re reading, just make sure that it lets you fly away from reality and into your pool of imagination.

In other news, Research In Motion CEO, Thorsten Heins insists that, as it stands, there is nothing wrong with the company right now. In a radio interview with Canadian Broadcasting Corporation, Heins is optimistic that, despite dwindling sales, employee layoffs, and stiff competition from Apple, Google, and now Microsoft, RIM’s lost market share will be slowly regained once the BlackBerry 10 mobile operating system rolls off the production line.

“Research In Motion is in the middle of a transition,” said Heins. “We’re building a whole new mobile computing platform. And that is a huge program we are going through. We’re doing in 18-20 months what others have used 24-36 months for. The whole company is focused around it.

“While we do this, we are still very focused on selling BlackBerry 7 … in the U.S. and also in the rest of the world. This whole company is going through an orientation of new focuses around corporate customers, around consumers, around a whole new software platform, and that is quite a significant challenge to the company.”

He further adds that he is expecting huge support from service carrier partners and enterprise customers once the BB 10 is commercially available, making the company regain relevance as a serious player not just in the smartphone market, but in mobile computing as well.

It should be noted that just a little over a week ago, RIM was considering company-splitting and merger options to try and keep itself alive long enough to make another bid at a comeback. Nothing definite has come out of this yet, and it remains to be seen whether it would do gadget users well to sell used BlackBerrys or hold on to them until the dust finally settles.

Is Blackberry Losing Its Grip on DC?

is_blackberry_losing_its_grip_on_dcThe heyday of Blackberry may be ending already. After going through a very tough year in 2011, it seems that 2012 will not be as great as expected, with increased competition and more manufacturers like Apple, Samsung, and HTC advancing their products with more features.”

The supremacy of BlackBerry gadgets in Washington is on the decline, although they maintain an advantage over competing smartphones, according to a survey conducted by the National Journal of how Capitol Hill employees in the executive division, as well as in the private sector utilize high technology and media.

Last January, 77% of staffers from Capitol Hill claimed they have BlackBerrys. This is a decrease from 93 percent in 2009, the last instance the same survey was conducted. Only one percent of the survey respondents in Capitol Hill said they have plans of buying a BlackBerry. In 2009, the percentage of the private-sector staff that had BlackBerrys was 76%, but currently, only half do. The technology’s supremacy fell among executives, from 76 to 57 percent. Less than one percent in the private sector and the executive sector expressed plans to purchase a BlackBerry.

Since 2009, the iPhone of Apple has slowly but surely occupied a piece of the BlackBerry’s share in the market. The Internet survey discovered 41 percent of Capitol Hill employees claimed they have an iPhone. As for the rest, 42 percent of workers in the private-sector and 27 percent of federal executives have iPhones. In 2009, iPhones were scarcer. In fact out of the 1,184 Washington staffs surveyed, 13 percent on Capitol Hill, 15 percent in the private sector, and 9 percent in the executive branch stated they had an iPhone.

The enterprise IT community of Washington has been developing a taste for the iPhone, though it does not have the knowledge and messaging security a BlackBerry has. For example, last month, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration said it would start distributing iPhones instead of BlackBerrys.

The survey discovered that the three most in-demand social networks for the Washington crowd are Facebook, LinkedIn, and Twitter. 84 percent of the survey’s employee respondents claim they are on Facebook and use their smartphones to access it. LinkedIn, with 60 percent followed, and Twitter, at 49 percent came in third. For executive-branch users, Facebook still came out on top with 63 percent followed by LinkedIn at 52 percent, and Twitter at 24 percent. Private sector users are more into LinkedIn though, at 75 percent, followed by Facebook and Twitter.

The Canadian company, Research In Motion which manufactures the BlackBerry, is pushing for the security capabilities of its devices to appeal more to the DC crowd. In a statement, the company said, “In an era of real cyber security threats and attacks, BlackBerry continues to offer unmatched security, reliability and value for government agencies concerned about securing and protecting sensitive government information. Today, that includes over one million government customers in North America alone.”

The game attributes 60 typical levels and enjoyable bonus levels, pulling and hovering birds throughout space. It also includes totally free updates and cool gameplay, making Play a real part of the PlayBook. For the very first dozen or so levels, the method to gravity fields is easy going. Rovio eases you into the distinction between the vacuum of space as well as the pulling fields and the notion of playing while circling a planet as opposed to along a flat plane is slowly introduced. This would turn out to be dull pretty swiftly, but as style professionals, Rovio’s designers know when to tweak the formula – as a drip feed of new thrills. Soon you must conquer levels of intersecting gravity fields, requiring much more concentration. And occasionally there is even such a conflict that a brand new center of gravity is created among the heavenly bodies.

A mere month following its arrival to the other telephone platforms, you’ll be able to now discover Angry Birds Space in the Blackberry App Planet for $2.99. Sell used BlackBerry phones so that you can get a PlayBook for this cool intergalactic app!
